Three resplendent forests, Puszcza Wkrzanska, Bukowa and Goleniowska form the neighborhood of Szczecin, making it a favored recreational centre.
Being located on a harbor, the maritime economy is key to the city's growth. The shipyards, fishing companies, repair yards and transport contribute in a big way to the city's trade.
Most tourists visit here for the day or stay overnight. There is a lot of tourist traffic from Germany, Sweden and Denmark due to the proximity of these countries from Szczecin.
